The Wood Wide Web

Paper, photograph, 116 x 42 x 16 cms, 2018

An installation of paper cut trees and a representation of a mycelial network, housed within one of the library display cases. The work considers the ‘Earth’s natural internet’ in response to the library context and its contents. The range of species reflects the individuality of the books and the experience of physically engaging with them.

The Wood Wide Web is one of three works commissioned by the Portico Library in Manchester for the exhibition BiblioTech: From Bookshelf to Big Data.
